I am so, so excited to announce a super rad workshop that I get to be a part of: Down South Shop. I’m teaming up with a few of the coolest photographers I know – Sara & Rocky and Jess Barfield Photography – to teach YOU about shooting in the south. The South is just a different type of place with a unique set of elements that we deal with on every shoot that really set us apart from photographers in other parts of the country. Our goal is to really focus in on these elements and teach you how we do what we do. The date is Sunday, June 17th, and we would LOVE to have you there. Tahoe Summer

I got to shoot an amazing wedding in Tahoe this past summer (blog coming soon) and I took a day to explore. Once again, my little Fuji x100 was by my side and proves to be the best travel camera I’ve ever had. Enjoy.

*Note: The sunset photograph is barely edited, it really was that spectacular in person. Blew my mind.

My wonderful sister had her 3rd child on Monday, and this time it was a GIRL! Now I have two bad-a little nephews and one beautiful little niece! 5lbs 3oz 19.25in, welcome to earth, Brynlee Elizabeth Houser, we can’t wait to spoil you rotten.

Traveling a Bit

This wedding season has been unbelievable. So many amazing couples and amazing weddings. I’ll be traveling a lot over the next few weeks to some pretty fantastic places for some more awesome weddings and I couldn’t be more excited if I tried. Currently I’m in Colorado and get to go white water rafting with the grooms party tomorrow morning. So. Pumped. Wow. I also recently got a Fuji x100 and it has proven to be a handy little travel cam, I’m kind of in love with it. Here are a few Colorado images from the x100. I’ll be back soon. Bye. (Ps. So glad to have my buddy and photog extraordinaire, Andrew Shepherd, along with me!)

Brand New Portfolio!

I’m so incredibly excited to announce the launch of my all new site and brand new portfolio! This has been a long time coming for me. These past couple years have been a whirlwind and I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the best people I could ever imagine in some pretty amazing places. I’ve taken a lot of care to put together a collection of images from these past couple years that I’m very proud of and I can’t wait to share it with you.

I’ve got to thank my friend Matt McClosky and WhiteLoupe for building me such an unbelievable new website and putting up with my nit-pickyness. WhiteLoupe is developing some fantastic new websites specifically for photographers. Their sites are incredibly well designed (brace for nerd talk) with a fantastic user interface that displays photographs beautifully and uses only HTML5, CSS3, & Java Script, no flash. Also, the back-end cms is really slick and easy to use while giving you control over the look and functionality of your site for the average person and the advanced coder alike. Oh, and by the way, the site is completely friendly to all browsers and even has an integrated mobile site, which is a rapidly growing market that all photographers need to be thinking about. Thank you to all my incredible friends and family that show me such love and support in everything I do and encourage me to keep running hard. hello 2011

2011 is here and a lot of things are in store for the new year that I’m really excited about. A new updated portfolio site, new blog with a lot more blog posts, lots of radical new clients, some sweet destinations, and some personal projects that I won’t talk about yet but am SO excited about. I hope everyone’s 2010 was fantastic and that 2011 is treating you even better.

Happy birthday to my wonderful Father. My dad gives me wisdom, guidance, support, encouragement and endless love. He loves and fights for those he cares about and is always there when you need him. He has always encouraged me and been my biggest fan. He showed me the world of music and equipped me with skills to enter into it. He’s the best dad ever, period.

Dad, you are such an amazing man, I’m so beyond blessed to have you in my life. Love you so much, happy birthday!

Meet my sister, Lindsey, and her beautiful family, Kyle, Bryce, and Jackson. We did a little family portrait session to celebrate Jackson turning 1yr old this week!! We had a lot of fun doing this session. Byrce was really into it for about 30 seconds, then all he wanted to do was play in the corn field and then later with my camera. He was way more interested in being behind the camera instead of in front of it. And ya know what… he’s actually got some skill for a 4yr old!! To sum up: My two nephews are pretty much the best nephews ever, they could totally beat up your nephews. Love you, Housers!

Chicago // Very Windy

Near the end of June I was traveling with my band, Sleeperstar, through the mid-west and we got an afternoon off in Chicago. I’m originally from Chicago and most of my extended family still lives there, so, naturally, I spent a lot of time there growing up. I love going back. Love it.
