Dopita Wedding

April 22nd, 2011

I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Angela & Doug. You may remember their engagement shoot, you know, they’re the really fun, ridiculously good looking, super awesome couple… yup. The wedding was at the amazing Hyatt Regency Lost Pines resort in Basdrop, TX. It was a typical Texas summer day, super hot, but everyone was a trooper and was just glad to be there celebrating the marriage of these two amazing people.

Elizabeth & Ben // Engagement

April 20th, 2011

I got to roll down to Austin, TX and do a super fun engagement shoot with Elizabeth and Ben.  I had only talked to Elizabeth on the phone and in email up to this point, and it’s always so fun and exciting to meet a couple and shoot with them on the same day, it’s like an adventure! We all had an absolute blast running around Austin shooting. We started at one of the trailer park eateries that are all over Austin and got a few treats while we shot. Then we went to Mayfield Park which has live peacocks just running around the property, it’s awesome. I can’t wait to get back down to Austin for their wedding in June.

Todd & Karla // Mountain Top Wedding

April 18th, 2011

I was beyond excited to shoot the wedding of Todd & Karla.  Karla is one of my dearest and oldest friends and I was ecstatic that they wanted me to capture their story.  Todd and Karla are both full time professional Jazz singers in the Baltimore/DC area and I knew their wedding was going to be unique and a crazy amount of fun. They decided to have the wedding on a mountain top in Virginia at the Lydia Mountain Lodge in Stanardsville, VA. I flew in that morning and traveled up the mountain side to the lodge. Little did I know that while I was making my way from Dallas to VA a huge storm rolled in and soaked the mountain as well as knocked out ALL the power at the resort.  The greatest thing to see was how calm Karla and Todd both were and how unaffected by the weather and power situation they were. They were just so thrilled to be marrying one an other. It was beautiful. It did mean, however, that they had to get ready in the dark and Todd had to do his hair in the car rear-view mirror, ha. It also meant that the outdoor mountain view ceremony would have to be moved under the pavilion where the reception was to be held. They didn’t care, again, just so happy to be joined together.  Beautiful. Miraculously, the power came back on and the rain stopped literally 2.5 minutes before the ceremony started and the rest of the day was amazing. A note about the center pieces: they are all paper flowers hand made by Karla, amazing. Also, Todd definitely sang a tune to Karla at the reception followed by an UNBELIEVABLE duet by the couple. Thank you, Todd & Karla, I’m so blessed by you  both.

Ps. Go check out Karla’s tunes here <–
